Abstract
Abstract
During the study of the Seleucid coins of the National Museum of Iran, a plated drachm of Seleucus I showing a trophy with Aramaic letters was discovered. At first, its complete specifications were analyzed and compared with other similar plated examples of the same period. The only published example of this denomination with Aramaic letters is a drachm that has been introduced by Nicholas Wright from the Pitchfork Collection, Sydney. A new example from the collection of the National Museum of Iran has come to light. This paper deals with the types of plated coins with Aramaic letters, where they were minted, and why they were minted.
