Abstract
The “Shahdad Standard”, unearthed during archaeological excavations in the ancient necropolis of Shahdad in northern Kerman, Iran, stands as a captivating testament to the rich history and cultural heritage of southwest Asia and Iran. This unique object has piqued the interest of archaeologists and art historians since its discovery. Recognizing the need for complementary comprehensive documentation, the National Museum of Iran prioritized the Shahdad Standard in its initial efforts to upgrade and digitize its collection. This paper delves into describing the meticulous process of visually recording and documenting the Shahdad Standard, followed by creating a precise 3D model of the object. Then, it presents the initial findings of this endeavour, offering detailed descriptions of the scene depicted on the Shahdad Standard and its current condition.
