It is apparent that in the past, written sources did not cover all parts of a xora, and disregarded some issues. This may be attributed to two reasons: the author of the written text had a specific purpose and studied only important and accessible parts for that intention, or it was impossible to pay attention to and view all parts of that region. Arrajan is one such area where only the name can be found in written sources, and parts of it are archaeologically significant. Tashan, located in the north of Behbahan, is one of these parts that cannot be found in most written sources but has a rich capacity and a lot of evidence of material culture. One of the most important pieces of archaeological evidence in the landscape is the mill, which is found in most of the villages in this part, suggesting the agricultural potential of each area. However, this area is not homogeneous, and some villages are not suitable places for agriculture and have different methods of water supply compared to others. Therefore, one of the reasons for the lack of attention to this region in written sources could be attributed to its distance from communication routes. Nevertheless, appropriate knowledge and awareness of the natural and cultural potential have contributed to the prosperity and sustainable living of this region.
